Roots Up Collective is proud to be partnering with Sacred Rok with a fundraiser in memory of Roots Up Collective’s Owner’s son, David William Lavezzo. As the family faces the approach of what would be David’s 40th Birthday and 10th Anniversary of his death, it seems like an opportunity to shift the sadness and grief towards a positive action. A fundraiser for Sacred Rok; Education Nature’s Way.
WHY NATURE?
David was a great lover of traveling, camping, hiking and exploring. Nature was his place to clear his mind and engage with the peace and connection he felt in Nature. This challenge is designed to bring that experience to participants providing positive impact to mental and spiritual health.
David’s friends and family live globally. This challenge is designed to have everyone able to participate, supporting the fundraiser from wherever one may live.
WHY SACRED ROK?
David had some difficult challenges in his teen years that led to time within the Juvenile Probation system. This partnership with Sacred Rok and Roots Up Collective allows us to bring David’s spirit and overwhelming heart of helping others to a group of youth that he understood well. He battled through those challenges and he’d be thrilled to see us helping others struggling through adolescence and societal pressures. More on Sacred Rok and their mission at www.sacredrok.org
WHY HIKING?
David’s cause of death was heart attack. He had been battling and addressing High Blood Pressure issues. This Challenge is designed to get participants physically active in nature to provide positive impact to their physical health.
WHO CAN JOIN?
David had a large reach of friends and family that will be inspired to do this in his memory. This Challenge is designed to also invite participants in that never had the privilege of meeting him but would like the opportunity to support Sacred Rok in a fun way.
For David’s Mom and siblings, it is comforting to know that his spirit will continue to touch additional lives, expanding his presence in this world and leaving even more of his footprints on this earth through others.
